What the service involves

Laser welding concentrates energy into a very small area. That has two practical consequences: the bead is narrow and clean, and the heat the surrounding material receives is far lower than with conventional processes.

It solves a recurring problem with thin sheet and visible parts: thermal distortion. A thin part welded with too much heat input bows and loses flatness, and correcting it afterwards costs time and is not always possible. With a laser, the part stays much more stable.

It is the process of choice when the joint has to be visible with a clean finish, or when the part is too thin or too dimensionally demanding for conventional welding.

Frequently asked questions

When is laser welding better than MIG or TIG?

Mainly when distortion is the problem — thin sheet, long parts, tight dimensions — or when the joint is visible and a clean bead matters. For thicker material and structural joints, conventional processes remain the reference.

What thicknesses can you laser weld?

It depends on the material and thickness of the part. Send us the drawing and we will confirm when we reply.

Does the joint need reworking afterwards?

Less than with a conventional process, but it depends on the finish the part needs. If it has to be completely invisible, polishing is still the final step.

Which file formats do you accept?

We accept PDF, DXF, DWG, STEP/STP, STL, IGS/IGES and also PNG or JPG images. If you do not have a final drawing yet, send us a dimensioned sketch and we will review it all the same.

Do you make one-off parts or only production runs?

We handle one-off parts and prototypes as well as small, medium and large batches and repeat production. You can specify this in the quote request.

How quickly do you reply to an enquiry?

We send a technical response in under 48 hours from receiving the drawing and the part details.

Can several processes be combined on the same part?

Yes — that is the normal way we work. A part can go through laser cutting, bending, welding and finishing inside the same plant, under a single order and a single point of contact.
