Metal manufacturing services
Fifteen manufacturing processes under one roof, from laser cutting to final finishing, for custom metal parts and assemblies.
We manufacture custom metal parts from sheet and tube.
Catà Germans is a Catalan family business in industrial subcontracting, founded in 1958. We work for companies that need custom-made metal parts and assemblies, from a single unit to repeat production runs.
Every process takes place at our plant in Banyeres del Penedès, in the Baix Penedès area of Tarragona, Catalonia. That means a part can go through laser cutting, bending, machining, welding and finishing without leaving the same building or changing point of contact.

Laser cutting
Laser cutting of sheet and tube, plus permanent part marking. It is the starting point for most of what we manufacture.
Tube laser cutting
Round tube · Square tube · Special profiles We cut and machine round, square and rectangular tube and special profiles with repeatable geometry and joints designed to simplify assembly. View the service
Laser marking
Traceability · Logos · Codes · Batches We identify parts, batches, logos, codes and technical references with permanent, clean and legible marking on a range of metals. View the serviceMetal forming
Shaping sheet and profile after cutting: CNC bending, punching and rolling.
CNC bending
Precision bending · Batches · Prototypes We bend sheet metal under CNC control, with the groundwork done in our engineering office to hold angles, radii and repeatability on one-off parts and batches alike. View the service
CNC punching
Perforations · Formed features · Embossing We punch perforations, embossed features and formed shapes in sheet metal with CNC tooling — particularly efficient on repetitive parts with many operations. View the service
Rolling and curving
Sheet · Tube · Profile We roll and curve sheet, tube and profile to produce parts with radii, cylinders or special geometry as the project requires. View the serviceCNC machining
Material removal operations to hold tolerances and finish the part before assembly.
CNC machining
Precision · Tolerances · Functional finishes We machine parts on our CNC machining centre to hold tolerances, prepare seats and finish functional surfaces on demanding metal components. View the service
Tapping and countersinking
Tapping · Countersinking · Riveting We carry out tapping, countersinking and secondary operations that complete the part so it arrives ready for assembly, painting or dispatch. View the serviceWelding and assembly
Joining components and preparing assemblies with manual, laser or robotic welding depending on the batch.
Industrial welding
MIG · MAG · TIG · Spot welding We produce MIG, MAG, TIG and spot-welded joints with specialist staff, controlling the assembly and preparing the part for its final finish. View the service
Laser welding
Clean joints · Low distortion We weld with a laser to produce clean, fast joints with lower heat input and reduced distortion on thin or visible parts. View the service
Robotic welding
Batches · Repeatability · Throughput We weld robotically for industrial batches that need stability, repeatability and constant output part after part. View the service
Self-clinching fasteners
Nuts · Studs · Standoffs We insert self-clinching nuts, studs, standoffs and similar elements so the part is ready for final assembly. View the serviceIndustrial finishing
Surface treatment to leave the part ready for end use, painting or coating.
Polishing
Visual finish · Surface preparation We work the surface finish to reduce marks, improve appearance and leave parts ready for end use or further treatment. View the service
Vibratory deburring
Deburring · Smoothing · Consistency We apply a vibratory deburring and smoothing process to remove sharp edges, small cut marks and imperfections before assembly or final finishing. View the service
Shot blasting
Cleaning · Texture · Preparation We carry out surface treatment to clean, matt or prepare metal parts before painting, coating or a specific finish. View the serviceHow we work, from enquiry to delivery
One workflow for every service, so the project does not change hands at each stage.
-
01
Enquiry and drawing
You send us the part or assembly with the drawing, material, thickness, quantity and lead time. We accept the usual technical formats, and a dimensioned sketch is fine if there is no final drawing yet.
-
02
Engineering review
Our in-house engineering office reviews the drawing, prepares the flat patterns, optimises material usage and decides which shop-floor processes are involved and in what order.
-
03
Quote and approval
We send you the quote together with the manufacturing approach. If there are alternatives that make the part cheaper or better, we propose them before starting.
-
04
Manufacturing
The part goes through the processes it needs inside the same plant: cutting, forming, machining, welding and finishing, with no transfers between suppliers.
-
05
Inspection and delivery
The part is checked, packed and dispatched. Our own warehouse makes repeat orders and restocking quicker to handle.
From drawing to production.
The technical office turns client information into clear manufacturing: reviewing drawings, preparing developments, optimising material and connecting each order with the right workshop process.

Material stock to respond with agility.
Having our own warehouse lets us work with common materials at hand, organize production orders better and reduce waiting times when a project needs a fast response.
